Updates on The School Construction

The Rwentutu school is now in its second year since opening in February 2007. Enrollment has risen to 200 kids, boys and girls and 56 of them are boarders.  The dormetory block which was funded by "Assist International" was completed in June 2008 and the kids moved from the guest house to the Dorm block.  A generator which was donated by a Ugandan resident in Seattle arrived and was installed.  The school now has running water; the generator is being complimented by light solar power installed January 2009.

Youth Program Update

The Umoja African Youth Group under the leadership our esteemed volunteers is planning a series of events this year which will include participating in soccer tournaments and hosting a drama club. A youth home work club during the summer is planned and an after school programs for ESL and other skills is planned as well.
